- Dear friends! On 13-th of october 1-st St. Petersburg International Youth Film Festival was officially closed. We want to thank everyone who helped us, all the partners, guests, participants and visitors. We’ll add the report of everything what was happening these 5 days very soon. And here are the winners of the festival.

- SPBIYFF's founders and advisory board press-conference took place on 11-th of september with the support of Baltic Information Agency. We will announce the dates of next press-conference next week.

- Dear Participants! Please inform us about your attendance our festival as soon as possible. After september 15, we might not be able to receive any other requests for accommodation. Thank you.

- Due to wide range of different events in the frameworks of the festival SPBIYFF will take place from October 9-13. Submission dates are changed to 1 august 2008.

- Photo Exhibition

We announce the opening of the photo exhibition, which will take place in YESOD Cultural Center in june, 2008. If you would like to take part, please send your works to kf@iyfest.org for Ekaterina Faldina with the ‘photo’ mark. The tagline of the exhibition is ‘Apart from everyone else, I’m an ordinary man’

- SCRIPT CONTEST

We announce the script contest on social issues. This year we accept all works written on the tolerance them with the tagline – WHAT DO YOU GET FOR PRETENDING THE DANGER’S NOT REAL. Please send your vision of this issue to info@iyfest.org with the SCRIPT CONTEST mark.

- The opening film of our festival will be “Nomadak TX” by Raul De La Fuente. The film is the winner of many international film festivals, like in Paris, San Sebastian, Amsterdam and many others. Check out more about the film on the IMDB page –http://imdb.com/title/tt1013854/.

Nomadak TX tells the story of two musicians moving. Traveling with the txalaparta, a unique musical instrument that is played by two people. They arrive to India, Lapland, the Sahara and Mongolia to fuse their music with that of remote nomadic people. They cross frozen wastelands and deserts, on horseback in the mountains of Mongolia, and by train in the west of India… They travel is search of sounds. And they find them in other nations, in other surroundings, in other cultures. On other people that, like them, they use the music to say to the rest of the world: We are, we are alive, we are who we are.

- The closing film – ‘The Lighthouse’ was the participant of the festivals in Moscow, Rotterdam, Yerevan, London, Vyborg and many others.
